The brief

A farm-to-table restaurant changed its menu every six weeks but had no system for writing it. Each update meant a late-night scramble and inconsistent descriptions.

What I did

  • Built a menu description template with rules for length, tone, and ingredient callouts
  • Wrote the first three seasonal menus from scratch
  • Created a one-page style guide the kitchen and front-of-house can follow without me
  • Set up a shared content manager workflow so updates take 30 minutes, not a full day

Result

Menu updates went from a two-day stress event to a half-hour task. Guests started quoting menu descriptions back to staff as a joke, which is how you know it stuck.
